Your Role
Maha has developed an in-house digital credit scoring system, and the intern will work to improve risk identification.
The intern will:
- Study and understand the existing credit scoring system
- Analyse current repayment predictions for on-time repayments and delinquency
- Propose areas of improvement based on findings
- Assist in comparing our existing credit scoring system vis-à-vis machine learning
- Assist in analysing the best way to integrate and benefit from potential alternative data to improve credit scoring at Maha;
- Contribute to other tasks at Maha.
- be familiar with microfinance and/or smallholder farmers and or agri-finance;
- econometric background and familiarity with machine learning.
- have oral and written proficiency in English
- be familiar with the region
- working experience in emerging markets
- stipend of $1,000 per month;
- costs for ensuring a Visa;
- assistance in finding accommodation in Yangon;
- use of Maha’s ferry in Yangon; and
- phone/data allowance of 30,000 MMK monthly.
