Your Role
Maha wishes to embark on further digitization in a sustainable manner to reduce its turnaround time by developing a comprehensive digital roadmap and increase farmer outreach.
The intern will:
- Be part of Maha’s fintech team and assist in implementation of digital initiatives
- Review Maha’s current process map and propose digital initiatives to reduce turnaround time and increase efficiency
- Propose and implement new digital lending models for pilot
- Perform a feasibility study on branchless banking
- Familiarise themselves with mobile money/banking and mobile branches
- Assist in performing cost and productivity analysis for digital initiatives
- Assist in finding grants and financial support for digital initiatives
- Contribute to other tasks at Maha.
- have oral and written proficiency in English
- have Digital Fintech experience in emerging markets
- be familiar with microfinance and/or smallholder farmers and or agri-finance;
- be familiar with the region
- have working experience in emerging markets
- stipend of $1,000 per month;
- costs for ensuring a Visa;
- assistance in finding accommodation in Yangon;
- use of Maha’s ferry in Yangon; and
- phone/data allowance of 30,000 MMK monthly.
